June 13 Gathering: The Embodied Imago Dei

Trinity in the “in between”

If what we call “God” is a trinity of three “persons,” and if we believe we are bearers of the imago dei (image of God), are we also trinitarian beings? If so, how does that effect our experience of the divine and of relationships with one another?

Perhaps, as Richard Rohr has said, ”[…] God is Relationship Itself. The names of the three “persons” of the Trinity are not as important as the relationship between them. That’s where all the power is—in the ‘in between’!

This week at New Wineskins, we‘ll engage in a fun bit of theological speculation to explore the idea of a trinitarian imago dei at the heart of our identities and consider the implications of such a provocative idea. We‘ll walk through some theological concepts together and find the questions that compel us to think more deeply…because after all, as we always say, questions are far more interesting than answers!

Put on your theological thinking caps and join us this Sunday, June 13, in our New Wineskins Virtual Pub for a conversation on trinitarian theology and identity that’s sure to be both fascinating and fun!

6:00pm: Happy Half-Hour (informal meet & greet time)
6:30pm: Presentation & conversation begins
