Oct. 31 Gathering: Does God get what God wants? An All Saints Day liturgy for spiritual exiles

In a world of contradictions, competing narratives, doubt, uncertainty, and anxiety, it can be comforting to fall into a faith story that says we need not worry because God is in control.

But what if those things all have a purpose? What if the real key to knowing comes in the unknowing?

This week at New Wineskins, we’ll observe All Saints Day by considering how our experiences of the divine are not meant for their own sake, but to transform how we experience everything…including life, death, and resurrection.

Our All Saints Day celebration will also include lighting candles to honor the memory of friends, loved ones, and victims of the ongoing global pandemics of Covid-19, systemic oppression and marginalization, and Christian supremacy. Please feel free to bring a candle to whatever space you participate from to light as part of our liturgy.

Join us in the New Wineskins Virtual Theology Pub this Sunday, Oct. 31, for an All Saints Day celebration of the faith borne from unknowing. It promises to be a deep and fascinating conversation!

6:00pm EDT: Happy Half-Hour (informal meet & greet time)
6:30pm EDT: Presentation & conversation begins
