Of all the ancient pagan traditions that have been syncretized into modern Christianity, few are more fascinating than the story of St. Brigid, whose feast day is still celebrated on Feb. 1 each year.

So who was Brigid and how did she become such an important figure in Celtic foklore? And how does her story inform those of us on the progressive Christian path seeking a more holistic relationship with each other and the planet on which we live?
