Aug. 3 Gathering: Braiding Sweetgrass Sections 3 & 4

Our summer book study on Robin Wall Kimmerer’s bestseller Braiding Sweetgrass continues this week with our discussion of Sections 3 & 4 of the book, Picking Sweetgrass and Braiding Sweetgrass.

The themes of reciprocity and a gift economy from the first two sections evolve in the chapters we’re discussing this week. We’ll also dig into Kimmerer’s explanations of how the earth and plants can provide a blueprint for human thriving.

Please join us this Sunday, Aug. 3, in the Virtual Theology Pub powered by Zoom to share your thoughts and insights!

Remaining Summer Book Study schedule:

Sunday, Aug. 3: Sections 3 & 4 (Picking Sweetgrass, Braiding Sweetgrass)

Sunday, Sept. 7: Section 5 & Epilogue (Burning Sweetgrass, Returning the Gift)

Braiding Sweetgrass is available through most major booksellers. Below is a link we like to Milkweed Editions:

6:00pm ET: Happy Half-Hour (informal meet & greet time)
