Awakening: Week 5

“Love is the non-possessive delight of the unique particularity of the other.”
—Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis

One of our recurring themes in our community is the connectedness of all things and the hollowness of a faith rooted in individuality.

But in a culture so steeped in individualism, how do we break out of the well-worn grooves of a Christianity focused on the illusion of the preservation of our individual identities?

Can we overcome the siren song of self perpetuation? And could the key to awakening lie in the simple act of delight?

Please join us this Sunday, Feb. 4, in the New Wineskins Virtual Theology Pub powered by Zoom as we wrap up our post-Epiphany series on Awakening and begin Black History Month. This week in our discussion video from The Work of the People, Rev. Jacqui Lewis invites us to bask in the delight of connectedness and diversity, and to see those things as our entry point to encountering the Divine.
