Bring Your Own Bible (verse)

As we come to the last couple weeks of our Easter/Pentecost study of Josh Scott’s Bible Stories for Grown-Ups, we thought it would fun to apply what we’ve learned together to some other biblical narratives and see how it shapes our approach to justice and liberation.

So this week at New Wineskins we’re inviting you to bring a particular Bible story that puzzles, bothers, or downright perplexes you, and we’ll see how viewing it through a specifically contextual lens helps us understand it. Our lead instigator Joe Webb will start us off with a look at the widely confusing Parable of the Shrewd Manager from Luke 16:1-15, and we’ll see where the conversation goes from there!

Join us this Sunday, June 18, in the New Wineskins Virtual Theology Pub powered by Zoom for a wild evening of biblical exegesis…and be sure to come back next week as BSFGU author Josh Scott joins us LIVE! (Details below)

6:00pm ET: Happy Half-Hour (informal meet & greet time)
6:30pm ET: Presentation & conversation begin
