July 19 Gathering: Is unknowing the path to knowing?

Much of religion in general and Christianity in particular—especially during the era of Christendom—has focused on knowing. Knowing who God is. Knowing what the Bible says. Knowing Jesus.

But what if the path to real enlightenment is not in knowing, but in unknowing?

What if the key is not gathering more information, but emptying ourselves to have an experiential encounter with the divine?

This week at New Wineskins, we’ll engage with Irish writer, philosopher, and radical theologian Peter Rollins through video resources from his website and The Work of the People that invite us to consider how doubt and unknowing are actually the very places we meet God.

Join us in our New Wineskins Virtual Pub this Sunday, July 19, as we start a deep dive into how doubt and uncertainty can build the foundation of a vibrant kind of faith and spirituality.

Connection opens at 6:00pm
Conversation begins at 6:30pm
