Sept. 27 Gathering: Yom Kippur

This Sunday, Sept. 27, marks the beginning of Yom Kippur, the traditional Jewish Day of Atonement.

The observance is rooted in Leviticus 16:29 as the culmination of the days of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

While most Christian communities have not traditionally celebrated Yom Kippur, there is a growing movement among some to observe a time of confession and repentance within our heritage while carefully avoiding cultural appropriation.

Please join us in our New Wineskins Virtual Pub via Zoom this Sunday, Sept. 27, as we mark Yom Kippur with a conversation about confession, repentance, fasting, sabbath, and forgiveness.

Zoom connection opens for Happy Half Hour at 6:00pm
Conversation begins at 6:30pm
