Most of the time our reality seems dominated by the trappings of existence: paying the rent, showing up for work, filling the cupboard, going to church, etc.

But what might change if we began to see ourselves and experience our lives from more of a cosmic perspective? What are the things that seem important to us that really aren’t? And what do we find unimportant that might have eternal significance?

For the next two Sundays (June 16 & 23) we’ll discuss the idea of what it means to hold a cosmic identity through a video from The Work of the People featuring Dr. Barbara Holmes titled “A Transcendent Leap.” This Sunday in Part 1 of this discussion series we’ll take a look at various cosmologies of race, privilege, compassion, service, etc. and talk about the ways we locate ourselves within them and how we might begin to broaden our perspectives.

Please join us this Sunday, June 16, in the New Wineskins Virtual Theology Pub powered by Zoom for a conversation about how we can begin to imagine possibilities for a more universally-focused existence and the implications of embracing a cosmic identity.
