Pentecost Sunday

How do we know when we’ve experienced Divine Spirit? Does it come in dramatic fashion like Moses’ burning bush, or is it more in the quiet of Elijah’s “still, small voice?”
Do we always know when we’ve had an encounter with the Spirit? Or does it happen so naturally and organically that we only notice when we’re paying attention?
This week at New Wineskins, we’ll celebrate Pentecost Sunday with a discussion of Rev. Jacqui Lewis’ video on The Work of the People titled “Breathe Spirit Wind.” We’ll discuss the ways the Spirit ”unleashes love” in the human heart, as Rev. Lewis states in the video, and how that love unleashed inspires both ourselves and others.

Celebrating 10 Years of New Wineskins!

Our first “pub church” gathering was held May 4, 2014, when about 30 people came together at MBC for a conversation about the intersections of story, art, faith, and community.
Ten years later, we’re still going strong as a vibrant and vital online community of folks focused on justice and liberation. We’ve grown and evolved in many ways in the past decade, from a local gathering of folks feeling frustrated with the institutional church to a full-fledged community for spiritual exiles from across the US and around the world.
We’ll have more details to share next week but be sure to clear your calendar to join us, whether in person or online, for our big celebration!
