July 30 Gathering: Prayer & Poem

poem poster

We talk a lot about the personal practice of prayer. It’s our way of communicating one-on-one with the living God, of lifting our concerns, our hopes, our fears, our questions, and our doubts.

But outside of Sunday mornings and special occasions, how often do we engage in corporate prayer…seeking God’s will for God’s people. Looking for how God is speaking into the community and not just individuals.

And how limited and limiting might our corporate prayer practices be? More often than not, we sit still, with heads bowed, while someone else prays on our behalf.

But there are many ways to connect our hearts with God’s. And this week at New Wineskins, we’re going to try something a little new and different!

Join us this Sunday, July 30, as we discuss an ancient prayer practice called the Daily Examen and then work together to create a community response to our shared prayers. It promises to be a fun and interesting night with friends and neighbors as we join our hearts, hands, and minds to lift our prayers to God through a piece of corporate art!

As always, we will meet in the 167 Side Room of the Marietta Brewing Company. Come on out and be part of our prayer poem!

Happy Half-Hour: 6:30pm

Conversation Begins: 7:00pm
