Jan. 31 Gathering: Can we evangelize without being jerks?

Let’s be frank. “Evangelicals” have, in many ways, given Christianity a bad name over the past 50 years or so. In their zeal to “share the gospel” and “save souls,” they may well have turned more people against the church than toward it.

And yet, people remain interested in Jesus and in the idea of spirituality. Polls reflect a growing demographic of “spiritual but not religious” in nearly all corners of American life.

If Jesus is still compelling, and if we believe his story still holds power to transform peoples’ lives, how can we share that story without turning people against it? How can we evangelize without being jerks?

This week at New Wineskins we’ll talk about ways evangelism can still be relevant in a 21st century post-Christian world, and maybe find some strategies for how we can keep the story alive amidst postmodern culture.

Join us this Sunday, Jan. 31, in the 167 Side Room of the Marietta Brewing Company and be part of the conversation!

Happy Half-Hour: 6:30pm

Conversation Begins: 7:00pm

    1. Really well. A lot of good conversation around the topic of religion focused on “sin management” vs. grace. Sorry you couldn’t make it!
